Why Get the Bissell Spinwave?
The Spinwave is an incredibly versatile machine. If it had a cordless option, it would have been even more so. But as it stands, it is plenty capable of getting to those hard-to-reach areas. Combined with its amazing scrubbing power, your floors will be left spotless.
Now, cleaning is one thing. What really makes the Spinwave excel is its ease of use. Thanks to its flexible swiveling head, you’ll have no trouble getting around and under furniture. No longer do you have to struggle with sponges and scratch pads.
The Spinwave effectively eliminates the hard work, and for the better. You’ll have more time to do the things you love thanks to the speed and versatility found in this incredibly handy unit. Oh, and it’s really quiet, too.
We’d like to share our hands-on experience with the Spinwave so you can see if it’s the right fit for you. In the following sections, we’ll break down each of its key features. We’ll tell you all about our time cleaning and why we think the Spinwave is a winner.
Dual Microfiber Buffing
This is quite possibly the most important aspect of the Spinwave. So we made sure to spend ample time testing it out. Its unique buffing pads are likely the first thing you’ll notice on the unit.
The base of the unit is equipped with two microfiber heads that work to get down deep into your flooring. We wanted to see just how well these worked by taking the Spinwave to task.
We started in the kitchen to see what it could do with tile and grout. These get dirtier than any other flooring in the house thanks to frequent foot traffic, including but not limited to pets and children.
We started by attaching the two scouring pads to the bottom of the unit. They stick right on thanks to the use of Velcro, so you should have no trouble taking them off for cleaning after you’ve finished mopping.
We then filled the onboard container with Bissell’s Multi-Surface cleaning formula and put the Spinwave to work. We started in a corner and worked our way across the floor. It was neat seeing all the ground-in dirt getting worked loose by the scouring pads.
Thanks to an onboard spray system, you can use as much or as little cleaning solution as you need to ensure you get the clean you’re looking for. An easy-to-use button on the handle activates the sprayer, which is then expelled from the base of the unit just above the spinning pads.
The two combine to leave grout and tile bright and vibrant. Grout is one of the hardest things to get clean in the kitchen. Thanks to the Spinwave, that’s no longer an issue. Within minutes, we were looking at a spotless kitchen floor.
When we finished with that, we turned off the machine and flipped it over. We removed the scouring pads and attached the two soft-touch buffing pads. Some people use these both before and after scrubbing, as they do a fine job of picking up loose pet hair and fuzz.
After attaching the buffing pads, we repeated the same motion and path as we did with the scouring pads. These work wonders in bringing out the tile’s natural luster. If they looked great before buffing, they looked even better after.
Next up, we hit the den. It is covered with laminate wood flooring – the perfect test for the Spinwave. This type of flooring can often look foggy or hazy after mopping. So we were looking forward to seeing what the buffing pads could do.
Unlike the kitchen, we began with these pads to pick up pet hair. The den is notorious for collecting this stuff. Corners and baseboards often have piles of it built up. The shape of the Spinwave and the positioning of its pads makes it easy to get right up against the wall and in corners.
We first moved all the furniture to the center of the room. We then took the Spinwave around the entire perimeter. We were blown away by how much debris the buffing pads collected. To say it made scouring easier would be an understatement. We were able to skip sweeping altogether thanks to this.
We removed these pads and attached the scouring ones. We were a little apprehensive as to whether these would damage the laminate flooring. But Bissell says it’s safe, so we went for it. The results were nothing short of beautiful.
After completing the rest of the floor, we switched back to the buffing pads for a final pass. We were left with stunning, shiny laminate wood flooring. You really have to see it to understand what a fine job this machine does with hard floors.
So we know tile and laminate are no match for the Spinwave. But what about vinyl? Everyone who’s tried mopping vinyl knows it is notorious for streaking after mopping. Could Bissell’s impressive little all-in-wonder do just as well on vinyl?
Only one way to find out. On to the bathroom! We threw all the rugs out in the hallway and turned the Spinwave loose. There are a lot more tight areas to clean in the bathroom compared to the den and kitchen. There’s the toilet to get around and a long sink with cabinets to get under.
This is where the Spinwave’s unique shape really proves its worth. Since the heads stick out on each side and all around, it’s a breeze getting under and around obstacles and objects in its path.
We can safely say that after buffing the bathroom floor, no streaks were left behind. In fact, they were left better polished than any other machine or tool we have ever tried. Well done, Spinwave. Well done.
Swivel-Head Action
This is what makes the Spinwave such a pleasure to use. By having a swiveling head at the base of the unit, it is so much easier getting under and around furniture and cabinetry.
The Spinwave really shines (no pun intended) in this department. Using a traditional mop can be quite straining on the body after a while. Especially if you have arthritis like I do. Mopping is actually one of the most difficult things for me to do.
If you suffer from any type of pain, you will be over the moon with how easy the Spinwave is to operate. It’s an absolute breeze maneuvering it across the floor and around the house. And thanks to its feathery, lightweight design, you’ll have little to no trouble carrying it from room to room.

Easy-Fill Tank
Depending on how much cleaning you’re going to be doing, you only need to fill the onboard tank so much. There are measuring lines along the tank to help you with how much water you need to add.
The Easy-Fill tank is a cinch to take out. Just a firm pull up removes it for filling. There’s a cap that needs to be unscrewed before you can fill it with water.
After filling, follow the instructions to add Bissell’s Multi-Surface cleaning formula. This mixes instantly with the water and typically requires very little. After doing this, simply set the tank back into the Spinwave and you’re ready to start cleaning.
Conclusion
We couldn’t be happier with the Spinwave. We found it to be a joy to use thanks to its amazing cleaning system and lightweight design. If you’re looking to eliminate pesky mopping forever, this is the machine for you. Bissell once again delivers an outstanding unit that makes chores easier than ever.
